Woodland retreat in Esher

  • Location Esher
  • Timescale 4 weeks

Our clients wanted a woodland glade retreat for their guest ensuite shower room. As if nestled in a forest, the pattern tiles by Ca’Pietra, captures the brief our client gave us. This creates a focal point leading the eye from the floor up the wall. We paired a vanity unit from Dansani, in a bespoke soft powder green colour. To pick up the colours in the hexagon tiles, while complimenting the soft tones in the lourve tiles in the shower area.

A bespoke tray has been used to allow for a large walk in shower, using the length of the room. The shower wall was at an angle, we built the wall out, giving the shower a conventional shape. This allowed us to retain the depth at one side for the recessed shelf. With lighting in the recess to provide mood lighting.

A contemporary heated towel rail in a soft white, is practical and stylish. While matching the round mirror surround and grout lines in the woodland tiles.

We layered lighting within the recess and under the basin, as well as ceiling lights. This allows the user to create the ambiance they are after with options of softer lighting or a fresh brighter light.

The design is finished off with brushed nickel brassware, elevating the look with a subtle and softer appearance.

Just outstanding. That’s the long and short of the guys at Bathroom & Kitchen Eleven. If you don’t read any further than this, that’s all you need to know.

The first thing to stress is Adam and co genuinely stood out from the competition.

I guess in all home projects there’s the task of getting multiple quotes, then working out the quality versus price conundrum. But in this case Adam was so far ahead of anyone else we spoke to that in the end there was barely a decision to make. His ability to look beyond the four walls (or in our case five or six walls with weird angles) and bring something exciting to life is hugely impressive.

We asked Bathroom Eleven to do two bathrooms. We have a fairly old house, with all the quirks that come with it. On the face of it there seemed a real limit to what someone could do, beyond replacing the products and giving the rooms a facelift (which is all the competition could propose to us). Fast forward a few weeks and we are staring at two unrecognisable, stunning bathrooms, imagined and designed by Adam, and installed by two of the most dedicated and skilled fitters you could ever hope to meet in Winston and Vasile.

In truth ‘fitters’ doesn’t do them justice, they’re also problem solvers. If they discover minor or major headaches along the way they have an incredibly wide set of skills to draw on to enable them to rise to the challenge that Adam’s mind sets. And they do so in a refreshingly polite and conscientious manner, accompanied by a single-minded attention to detail.

On a broader level they’re just a lovely bunch of people. There’s nothing flashy, showy or salesy about them. It’s friendly, attentive, and down to earth, with nothing being too much trouble for them. Ben and Adam are very responsive and I genuinely believe they know everything that’s going on with every single project they have, at any given moment.

Top marks. First rate. Thank you guys.

The room was at an angle, so we built the wall out, giving the shower a straight wall, and used the awkward shape as an angled recess, making a deeper shape in the dry area of the shower. A perfect spot for candles and plants.

To create a woodland feel that our client was after, we used hexagon leaf tiles on the floor leading up to the basin wall, creating a focal point for the shower room.

We used a bespoke paint colour in powder green on the vanity unit, picking up the colours within the woodland tiles while complimenting the soft tones in the lourve blanc tiles.
