Spa style en-suite in Surbiton

Our client came to us with this uninspiring dated en-suite. They were after a bright and modern space. However, because this room doesn’t have any windows, the light had to come from the products and strategic lighting. We created a spa inspired space with light tiles and finishes to bounce the light around. The bathroom wave tiles by Porcelanosa create a sensual feeling and elevate the look.

This luxury en-suite needed storage and modernisation. As there isn’t any natural light, we designed it with a large mirror to allow light to bounce around the room. Also by putting in the two deep drawer basin unit, it offers plenty of storage keeping an uncluttered spa feel. Having wall-hung furniture creates the illusion of a larger space, as the brain sees floor space that would normally be covered. White solid surface counter also creates a light filled room as does using chrome fittings.

A sliding shower door allows for a spacious shower to be installed without eating into limited space. By using doors without a frame all around makes the space feel bigger. The wavy tiles from Porcelanosa also add an interesting focal point and are a fabulous contrast to the smooth tiles. The recessed shelf in the shower utilises the space while keeping the area clutter free.

By putting a built-in cupboard in the recess above the WC, extra storage is quietly hidden allowing the en-suite to be clutter free and have a spa like quality. The shelf is perfect for scented candles or diffuser, again giving a luxurious spa quality to the room.
