Statement Master Ensuite in Surbiton
Our clients came to us wanting a statement master ensuite for their home in Surbiton. They were mindful of the age of the property and wanted a design that would be sympathetic to the building. However, they were keen to show their colourful and quirky style too. The current layout of the room didn’t work, with the existing bath sticking out in the middle of the room.
The generous size of the room allowed for two separate basins to be installed, giving the couple their own space, while creating hidden storage for their toiletries. Extra storage has been added by incorporating a large built in cupboard behind the door entering the room. We increased the footprint and opened up the shower area, using white metro tiles gives a light airy feel – making for a pleasurable showering experience. Red metro tiles behind the basins add a striking look against the white units and against the white tiles.
To add to the grandeur of the statement master ensuite, we added a feature chandelier over the bath. The slipper bath from BC Designs itself is versatile and can be painted to any colour.

The process
Bathroom Eleven installed completely new bathrooms in our en-suite and downstairs cloakroom, and the results are fantastic. Adam's design process captured our own ideas, but he added significant value to the end result, and was happy to take plenty of time to go through everything with any changes we wanted. The computer aided design images were really lifelike, which was helpful in deciding what to have, and they accurately reflected the end result. Andy and Kev did a great job on the installation, and their workmanship was first rate. They had a great attention to detail, a focus on quality, and an incredible work ethic. They sought input whenever there were options at a detailed level, which we appreciated. Communications were very good, and the whole team was respectful of the COVID rules, and ensured cleanliness in the house during the installation process. We would thoroughly recommend Bathroom Eleven.
We added a slipper bath that can be painted to create a bespoke feel to the bathroom. Turning the bath across the windows gave the bathroom a sense of grandeur.
In keeping with the age of the house, we added retro star tiles, this also grounds the design and creates a balance with the high ceilings. The tall radiators in an anthracite finish also pick out the colours in the  retro star floor tiles.
By removing the dark built-in shower cubicle, and replacing it with glass, we have opened up the corner of the room and allowed it to harmonise with the rest of the space. Creating an airy showering experience.
