Contemporary Style Mosaic Family Bathroom in Surbiton
Our client wanted to update their compact family bathroom in Surbiton to a contemporary design. The layout of the room worked. However, this room was without windows, leaving it to feel claustrophobic and lacking in features. Not creating an inviting space for a relaxing bath at the end of a busy day. Our Client was after a contemporary look which would also remain timeless. Their chosen colour scheme was grey of varying tones coupled with white. Our Surbiton bathroom designer’s idea was to use the lack of natural light to our advantage and embrace a moodier look with a deeper grey colour for wall and floor. Using natural looking materials such as stone tiles on the walls to soften the look. A recess featuring mosaics are enhanced with the use of down-lights to pick out the different colours.

The mosaic feature behind the bath creates an accent feature in the room and an element of light and relaxation when taking a bath.
The light features create a bit of drama and give the illusion of layers in the room even though the shape hasn’t really changed.
The large mirror above the basin was specifically designed to meet the wall and create the illusion of more space by reflecting the tiles, lights and mosaics behind the bath whatever the angle it is seen from.
