Classical Calacatta Family bathroom in Surbiton
Our clients were after a classical bathroom for their Victorian home in Surbiton.
We transformed what was a spare bedroom into a spacious and timeless family bathroom. Incorporating classical Calacatta marble tiles with a traditional basin and radiator, adding a contemporary twist by pairing a sleek bath tub and frameless shower.
There was a small chimney breast in the corner of the room. We built out the wall to match this, housing the pipe work for the shower while creating a recessed shelf. The Carter Mint metro tiles from Ca ‘Pietra add a contrast to the Calacatta tiles from Minoli. Following the classical, contemporary design, we installed a modern look bidet and WC, with the cistern concealed behind a built out wall. Creating a natural ledge for candles and paintings.
Chrome finish on the brassware and classical radiator adds a brightness to the design, allowing light to reflect around the room. Along with the frameless shower screen and openness of the basin, they help to create a commodious feeling to this classical family bathroom.
We paired an elegant floor standing tap with a bath from BC Designs, the sleek lines and soft slopes optimise comfort. Perfect for luxurious soaks.

We built the wall out inline with the chimney stack. This created a space to conceal the pipework and enabled a spacious recess shelf to be installed.
We installed a large walk-in shower area, with minimal frame, to keep the area feeling spacious and allowing light to flow throughout the room.
By fusing traditional and contemporary together, we honoured the period of the property but gave it an elegant lift. The floor standing bath tap paired with a chrome & black radiator do just that.
