Blanc Noir in Esher
Blanc Noir Family bathroom in Esher. Playing with light & dark for a twist on a neutral space. Offering dramatic serenity and warmth.
Our clients wanted a neutral space but with dark accents, without creating an overly masculine feel. Therefore, we created a dark pocket with off black paint by Farrow & Ball. This wall is only visible when in the room, adding a surprise element when walking into the bathroom. The black wall is complemented by the Dansani basin and brushed black brassware by Vado.
As a further twist, the Listón Madera tiles by Porcelanosa, offer hints of black deep within the strips of ‘wood’. Balancing the darkness with soft tones of warm wood, giving a 3D effect. Levelling the neutral tones, we matched this with louve blanc tiles from Ca ‘Pietra.
Highlighting the blanc lourve tiles, and lifting the design to a serene feel, we used layered lighting. These are found throughout the room; around the bath, under the basin and in the recessed shelves.
The Matki corner shower, allows our client the spacious shower they were after, while not intruding in the room. Adding a calm and spacious feel to the design.
To complete the look, we added a black radiator and Nero Marquina cimstone for the recessed shelves.

We used brushed black brassware, adding a twist to the neutral calm palate of this family bathroom.
Following the wood effect tiles through to the recessed shelf in the shower, adds a dramatic effect. While the light within the recess creates depth to the design.
To balance the neutral tones we added a wall in off black. This elevates the bathroom with a calm snug feel.
