White and light with patterned tiles in Teddington

This patterned tile ensuite bathroom in Teddington has a light and airy feel with white metro tiles creating a balance throughout the room. The room is long and relatively narrow. Therefore, we wanted to show as much of the floor space as possible, to give the illusion of a wider room.

The bathroom was built using space from the bedroom and an existing WC area. Therefore, we reconfigured the layout building a stud wall and new entrance to the ensuite area.

We incorporated this floor standing basin unit from Saneux along with a wall mounted WC. As a result, the patterned floor tiles are visible under the unit. This gives the illusion of extra space. Also, the pattern tiles in the shower recess offer a focal point which draws the eye through to the end of the room.

White metro tiles from Porcelanosa bounce light throughout the ensuite. While the pale Farrow and Ball paint on the walls create a softer contrast against the tiles. This colour also picks up and enhances the tones within the patterned tiles. Bringing the design together.

The recessed shelf in the shower area offers extra storage while showering. Furthermore, this space offers a focal point and a place to create a spa feel with candles and hidden lighting.

As the room is long, we incorporated a double basin unit. This makes perfect use of the area and balances the room into a more coherent and user friendly space.

We built a recessed shelf running the length of the bath, creating a focal point at the end of the room with patterned tiles. This also acts as a handy shelf for the paraphernalia needed while showering. The hidden lights add an ambient setting too.

We utilised the space by adding a double basin unit, creating balance within the long room. Showing floor space under unit and WC helps to add to the illusion of a wider space too.

To give the illusion of a wider room, we added a strip of lighting under the bath area. This creates a floating effect while showing off the patterned tiles.
